Louisville Association of Paralegals
In 2013, the LAP held Education Seminars on paralegals role in Criminal Law, legal ethics was presented by Commonwealth’s Attorney Thomas B. Wine, and Copyright, and Free Culture and the Internet.
The guest speakers at our Program Luncheons in 2013 were various paralegals sharing activities they were involved in outside of the workplace. The topics covered were Yoga, Derby 101, Running for a Cause, Glass Bead Making and Jewelry Design, and Paws with a Purpose.
On October 3, 2013, the LAP held Dinner, Documentary and Debate and showed the documentary “Hot Coffee”. Following the documentary was a spirited debate on issues surrounding tort reform among some of Louisville’s most distinguished civil litigation attorneys.
On November 13, 2013, the LAP held its first Legal Technology Summit. The Summit covered various legal topics along with a Paralegal Employment Forum and courtroom demonstration.
The CIPS Committee was been busy in 2013 hosting dinners at Ronald McDonald House and Gilda’s Club.
