LOUISVILLE ASSOCIATION OF PARALEGALS
Louisville Association of Paralegals Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Program "Legislative Update"Jefferson County Public Law LibraryJuly 24, 2018, Noon - 1:00 pm
Please join the LAP on Tuesday, July 24, at noon, for a "Legislative Update” presented by Senator Morgan McGarvey. The CLE will be an overview of the 2018 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly. Senator McGarvey will discuss the new and amended statutes effective July 14, 2018. This activity qualifies for one KPACC-approved non-ethics credit. While pension and tax reform dominated the news, the legislative session produced statutory changes affecting all areas of practice for paralegals. The legislature also passed Senate Bill 3, known as Marsy’s Law, which proposed the creation of a new section of the Constitution of Kentucky relating to crime victims' rights. The proposed amendment will go before Kentucky voters this November. The complete Acts of the 2018 Regular Session can be found at http://www.lrc.ky.gov/statrev/acts2018RS/tblspg.htm.
LAP Members - Free/Non-Members $10. Non-members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
