EDUCATION SEMINAR

"ETHICS ON SOCIAL MEDIA"

Please join the LAP for our first Continuing Legal Education program of the year on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at 12:00 p.m., at the Jefferson County Public Law Library, located at 514 West Liberty Street!  Ms. Amy D. Cubbage, a member at Ackerson & Yann, PLLC, will be our speaker on "Ethics on Social Media."  Ms. Cubbage practices litigation in the areas of complex business and commercial litigation, and is a frequent speaker on law and technology issues.

All LAP CLE programs, including lunch, are free for LAP members.  As a special introductory offer, the Education Committee is offering non-member registration (and lunch!) at no charge for the LAP's first CLE of the year!  Registration is required.

KENTUCKY PARALEGAL ASSOCIATION

The KPA's Spring 2018 Certified Kentucky Paralegal (CKP) Exam will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Sullivan University's Lexington Campus. A review session will be offered at 10:00 a.m., and the CKP Examination will be given at 12:00 p.m.

PURPOSES OF LAP

  • Expand the use of Paralegals in all aspects of the legal profession;
  • Establish and promote a working relationship between Paralegals and attorneys, business entities and government;
  • Cooperate with all appropriate bar and paralegal associations to promote high ethical standards and professionalism for Paralegals;
  • Encourage educational programs and training to promote continuing legal education for Paralegals; and
  • Inform Paralegals of developments in the paralegal profession and act as a forum for exchanging ideas.
